Mission Statement
To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty, thereby cultivating strength of character and self-discipline in our young riders. Our aim is to be a friendly, welcoming group that promotes safety, responsibility and most importantly – fun, in all aspects of horsemanship including the proper care of our animals.
Membership
Rokewood Pony Club are affiliated with the Barwon Zone of Pony Club Victoria.
We meet on the first Sunday of the month.
We cater for riders from 5 years of age.
We offer quality instruction in flat riding, showjumping, cross country, games and often have guest instructors visit for specialised lessons.
Where We're Located
We are proud home users of the Woady Yaloak Equestrian Centre which is located at 5 Lords Road, Smythesdale.
WYEC offers exceptional facilities including 4 all weather sand dressage arenas, fully enclosed 157m x 54m sand arena, 3 buildings with entertainment space, showers and toilets, exceptional cross country course - Grade 6 PC to 3*EA.
Come and Try
Do you have a child over 5 years old who has their own horse/pony and are keen to spend a day a month with like-minded children? Read on, this may be of interest to you!
RPC offer a "Come and Try Day" which gives children a taste of what being a member of a pony club is like. Ride in structured lessons with knowledgeable instructors. Lessons include the Olympic disciplines (dressage, showjumping and cross country) and opportunities outside of these include vaulting, mounted games, skill at arms, side saddle and natural horsemanship.
